(PL) “Kładzie cebulę na stół,
Z cebuli robi się wół;

Wół, jeśli się go zawoła,
Przemienia się w węża boa;

Boa w rączego konia,
Który bryka na błoniach;

Koń w pieska, pies w papugę,
A papuga w płastugę.

Kładzie ją za koszulę
I wyjmuje ….cebulę.

I tak w koło Macieju.
Smutny twój los, czarodzieju!”

– Maurice Carême

Info

In the last week of the SIGNALS / Interactive Playground exhibition, we’d like to invite children aged 8-12 to participate in a two-day workshop entitled “The Sorcerer.” This creative meeting will be an opportunity to create elements for another version of the installation under the same title, inspired by the poem of the Belgian poet, Maurice Carême.

During the workshop, using various unusual materials, we’ll be preparing objects that appear in the poem. We’ll later animate and record them. The resulting film sequences will become part of the new English version of the “Sorcerer” installation, which we’ll be shown during another presentation of the Interactive Playground exhibition in October-December 2018 in Kiev.

This is a two-day workshop and is directed to children aged 8-12 who speak English. The workshop will be run in Polish, but the children would recite parts of the poem in English.

The workshop is free, but the number of places is limited. Please send an e-mail to zapisy@wrocenter.pl (write CZARODZIEJ in the e-mail subject and name, surname, age of the child and your contact number in the e-mail body).

THE WORKSHOP WILL BE LED BY:

Magdalena Kreis – creator, educator and animator; since 2014 responsible for the audience development activities at WRO
Oleksandr Malets – author of light installations and mappings, he works with VR technologies and as a VFX specialist in films; resident of the Gaude Polonia scholarschip program of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage
