Double came into existence from the old Chinese food culture commonly uses animals’ organs into recipes to complement the corresponding organs in human’s bodies. The idea of this video is to question the belief of these organs could enhance weakened parts of human bodies and even spirits because they carry out similar functions in animals? And follow by the same logic, as a weakened human being; we should multiply these outsources powers as many as possible? How much do we need and what would we become once we started such an infinite complementary form?

Huang Zan-Lun born in Yi-Lan, Taiwan in 1979. He received BA in Fine Arts at National Taiwan University of the Arts in 2008, and MA in Fine Arts at Taipei National University of Arts in 2011. Huang Zan Lun cares a lore about the living condition of human beings, animals and nature itself. His works explore this polarity between the rural and the urban, the traditional and the modern. What’s more, it refers to human desire for technological advancement and the growing division between tools and toolmakers. Since 2008, he has several solo exhibitions and lots of group exhibitions in Taiwan and China. Huang Zan Lun was awarded with the Arising Artist Award of New Taipei City in 2011. His works are collected by National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Yi-Lan County, TAIWAN and private collectors.
