Another exhibition, prepared by the WRO Foundation in the Koszyki Hall in cooperation with the Griffin Art Space. Last year, the moths, crabs, fluids exhibition, accompanying the opening of the Koszyki Hall, saw over 25,000 visitors.

Camouflage, as the Cambridge English Dictionary tells us, is “something that is meant to hide something, or behaviour that is intended to hide the truth.”

The real concealed in the non-existent, gravity lurking in trifles, anxieties shrouded in the aesthetics of fun, the future cloaked in the present, rendered in awkward representations, reality as a game, ignorance downplayed by technology, a system numbed by a glitch.

It is reasonable to represent one kind of imprisonment by another, as it is to represent anything that really exists by that which exists not. – Daniel Defoe’s celebrated idea quoted famously by Albert Camus

The Griffin Art Space’s cooperation with the WRO Foundation has continued since 2013, bringing cutting-edge endeavours that open up non-obvious spaces, e.g. shopping centres, to artists from all around the world. Thanks to this, contemporary art becomes freely accessible. This year, on a 2,100 square meter site of the former delicatessen in the Renoma Department Store in Wroclaw, the audience could see an impressive OS (Systemic Operations) exhibition – one of the main Biennale WRO 2017 DRAFT SYSTEMS presentations.

On Sunday, July 9, 2017, at 1 PM, we invite you for a family walk through the exhibition. It will be led by Magdalena Kreis, curator of the Little WRO program. No registration is necessary and the participation is free. Participants of the walk will get the Little WRO Guide, which is a free publication that guides through the Biennale exhibitions. You can still use it, because some of the works presented at the CAMOUFLAGE exhibition are also included in the Little WRO Guide.

During the exhibition, the visitors will be accompanied by Art Guides who will be giving tours through the exhibition.

The Camouflage exhibition is part of the 17th Media Art Biennale WRO 2017 DRAFT SYSTEMS.

Organizers: WRO Center for Media Art Foundation & Griffin Art Space Foundation
