How about the greengrocer’s?! — Piotr Jaros on building-up his latest exhibition/project at WRO Atelier:

We’re all testers. I would give way and laugh with pleasure, but I can’t. Pharmaceutical and nutritional concerns, bank networks, internet search tools — they’re all testing us continuously, wanting to sell – a product, a service, a way of psuedo-living – and make us dependent upon themselves. There is a constant pressure, how far they can get to violate our existence by offering us ingeniously packed pseudo-modernity that we easily grasp. I feel endless pressure and explosion of this tendecy. Even more so because I myself am taking part in it. It is by no means form of criticism, I am just wondering how to get out of this repressive situation.

We’re all innovation-, synergy-, and hectic absorbtion-oriented (for already programmed). We demand something new taking us aback at every turn with no time for reflection. Spirituality has been rolling in musty grandma’s kitchen far too long. Spirituality that — because of its shortage and lack of mystery — has become such an embarassing word. Persistent internet anticipation of our intentions and desires makes me feel like to CAPITULATE.

In a specially arranged exhibiting space, the artist is going to install a stall: with fruits, vegetables, and scales. Parallely, there will be three videos shown during the exhibition:

1. This is it, 2011.
2. 40 tons of garlic, 2011.
3. Sense, 2011.
Whilst trading in HIS OWN GOLDEN GREENGROCER’S, Piotr Jaros is going to test the most niggling questions for him, whether to go on about selling vegetables or to continue life as an artist in Poland.

Exhibition until 15.11.2012

Curator: Piotr Krajewski
