“The idea came to me that night that I wanted to become a Butoh dancer, I wanted to dance like you. I wanted to create a digital movement library to archive your dance notation forever. I began to research on the possibility of digital muscle memory, to feel your movement with electric shocks or, in scientific term, electro muscle stimulation. I was able to condition my muscle to move like you. I believe I was very close to you at this moment. I think I succeeded in teaching myself Butoh. It was as if our universe folded in time and we met and dance together for the first time.”
