Info

Interactive Miniatures (IM) are easy-to-understand and easy-to-use programs, as well as outright works of art accessible from a web browser.

All you need to explore them on your own is any device with an internet connection and the most basic interfaces, such as a camera and a microphone. Each miniature tackles a selected important issue or phenomenon in art, culture, or science.

The context for the exhibition of Paweł Janicki’s Interactive Miniatures at the WRO Art Center is the ubiquitous rhythm of everyday street harmonies, those familiar from courtyards and apartment blocks. Here, the original programs available online take on an installation dimension, and the viewer becomes part of a composition of music, movement, and words. Each interaction creates a fleeting arrangement, a unique situation. The exhibition changes over time, living in the rhythm of endless variations.

At the end of the exhibition, together with the artist, we will make an extended set of miniatures available online, so that they can become tools for creative experimentation at home, on the move, both individually and in educational groups.

You can read about the rich cultural contexts and scientific and artistic explorations to which the successive miniatures refer in the descriptions below each Miniature.

MI – Interactive Miniatures are part of Paweł Janicki’s TeToKi! project, a collection of original interactive sketches developed since 2011.
