Opening events: May 13th – 17th | Exhibitions through September 2015

Open previews of the WRO 2015 Biennale program
Session 2: Jan 15th – 16th 2015, 18:00-22:00

We’d like to thank everyone who took part in the first sessions of the open previews of the WRO 2015 Biennale program.

For the first time in history we’ve decided to open the preparations and decision making stages to the public. TEST EXPOSURE obliges after all! The previews conducted in the end of December became a new experience for us. We’d like to thank you for your concentration and work. The evaluations you’ve made of the works gave us a surprising and inspiring material, worth a further program discussion and working out a new idea of curatorial choices – and such ideas are being conceived. So… let’s continue!

The next opportunity for a collaborative selection will emerge during the previews scheduled on the 15th and 16th of January 2015, from 18:00 to 22:00. The upcoming previews can also be joined by these who didn’t take part in the previous sessions.

Just to remind you: the WRO 2015 TEST EXPOSURE call for works has received a record-breaking amount of over 2300 works and program propositions. We’ve received them from over 80 countries: all the European ones, some from South America, Africa, including a lot of works from Arab countries, but also from Togo, Ghana, or the RSA. We’ve received numerous propositions from Asia, primarily from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong-Kong, Singapore, Thailand, or Taiwan. A lot of works came from Wrocław as well!

The entries are very diversified, in terms of genre, theme, used media, and the stage of production. They picture a wide image of current artistic output utilizing digital media, relating to the phenomena of the technosphere, and commenting the contemporary, mediatized reality. About half of the entries we’ve received are works meant for video screenings. We make the choice of works for the WRO 2015 Biennale program the subject of the open program previews.
