The artist about the installation:
When beginning this project, I was sure of my desire to abandon conceptual art, but now I know – everything flows. This work, based on my monologue, deals with the dilemmas I faced while finishing my education at the Academy. Whether to become an artist with paper or remain an artist on paper and take up a mythical “normal job” (the one that parents brag about to other parents).

My graduation work is also a hand extended to the layperson in contemporary art. One of the elements is videos depicting the process of creating the work, shouting: “Hey! I am a human artist! Who thinks, sweats, bends, and invents! I’m not a freeloader (because nobody pays me), okay?”. I extend my other hand to my professional colleagues who have been or are in the same place as I, afflicted by the same pains. I want my project to be a warm blanket of comfort for you. Remember – together we can do nothing.

Alicja Klich uses such means of expression as video, animation, digital graphics, and tailoring. In her works, she touches upon issues related to feminism, discrimination, climate, or mental disorders. As a fan of autobiographical works, characterized by exceptional authenticity and intimacy, draws on her own life, surroundings, and problems. She uses a straightforward message, often approaching the issue in a way that is ridiculous and bordering on kitsch. She is a graduate of media art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw and graphic design at the Pedagogical University in Krakow.
