A friendly space for interacting and experiencing art created for Ukrainian children, and their caregivers, families, and all friends, aged 4 to ∞ years.

Interactive Maidanchik – the Ukrainian version of Interactive Playground, our original media art exhibition for families and children – we prepared in 2018, together with friends from the Platform for Cultural Initiatives IZOLYATSIA in Kyiv. Now, as a space for joint creative activities in a safe and inspiring atmosphere, we want to recreate it and make it available to all children – Ukrainian and from other countries – who, due to violence and war, found themselves in Wrocław or live here.

Interactive Playground will be developed around Little Cinema, a space for relaxation, free watching and commenting of classic Polish animation from 1950-80s and Ukrainian animated films from WRO archives. We will also show selected installations, documentation of the Kyiv exhibition, and provide Ukrainian-language scripts for creative workshops for children. The creative activities will be led by Ukrainian Art Guides and WRO Art Center staff.

Interactive Playground is an exhibition created in 2008 for the youngest audience that combines aesthetic, educational and social functions. Since its premiere, the exhibition has been enriched with new objects and media installations by various artists and its formula is constantly developed by the WRO Art Center team.
