Info

On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, together with noks collective, we invite you to collectively listen to lullabies in a space dedicated to reflection and mourning.

Throughout the gathering, we will listen to recordings collected in Palestinian refugee camps: Aida, Dheisheh, Fawwar, al-Arroub, Balata, Jalazone, and Qalandiya. In those places, Karolina Grzywnowicz has recorded lullabies sung by residents (usually women) in spite of two techniques of power: cultural uprooting and sleep deprivation. Quiet and tender, these songs are also acts of subversion and resistance. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the full description of her project called Bedtime.

We provide water and tea for drinking. During the three hours, you will be free to come in and out from the venue of WRO Atelier, located above the Kalambur. Everyone is welcome to participate, including individuals with children. There will be a table with paper and crayons waiting for them. The venue is on the second floor, without and elevator.

The meeting will draw from the idea of offering space: to be together in times of separation and polarization, to speak about the injustice that currently affects people from Palestine, to be together in silence and mourning for those who have died in the brutal political struggle.

The event is inspired by a meeting organized by the Synonyms of Resistance collective in Berlin on November 4. More about the series of meetings, their purpose, and idea can be found on their instagram @synonyms.of.resistance.
