Info
From Jun 1 to Jun 9, 2018, in the City Art Gallery in Kalisz, you can watch and interact with “The Painting and the Stars” installation by Paweł Janicki. The installation has been presented for the first time during the SIGNALS / Interactive Playground exhibition at WRO Art Center.
The installation refers to “Painting with Light” (one of the most well-known installations of the Interactive Playground exhibition, in the original version developed together with Dominika Sobolewska) and to the novel by Arthur C. Clarke “The City and the Stars”. The gallery space is monitored by a camera placed above the screen. The gestures of the audience playing with glowing toys are recorded by the motion tracking system. With the help of the special software, the motion is translated into abstract images and sound in an interactive way.
At the same time, on the Night of Culture in Kalisz (Jun 9, 2018), also in the City Art Gallery, there will be the WRO on Tour #21 screening (more info soon).
