We invite you to participate in the next walk with a sketchbook in hand.

A new tree has appeared in Szczytnicki Park – a unique, artistic specimen of a young plane tree. This platanus – belonging to the genus characteristic for the greenery of Wrocław – was presented during the 18th WRO 2019 Media Art Biennale CZYNNIK HUDZKI / HUMAN ASPECT in the Four Domes Pavilion – Museum of Contemporary Art, as the main element of EDEN installation.

It’s the tree, but also a mysterious and emotional story of explosive experiments from years ago, that inspire the next drawing walk from the Subjective Atlas of Reality series. This time it is led by Piotr Krajewski – a curator, formerly the president of the students’ Free Chemists Association, now the president of the WRO Foundation and artistic director of the Biennale and Paweł Janicki – an artist.

Installation EDEN – Ethical Durable Ecology Nature by Olga Kisseleva used a model of communication between plants to create an algorithmic system, paying attention to the complexity of information exchange processes also occurring in nature. Currently, the plane tree is a reference point for the sound work by Paweł Janicki NOUMEN, connecting other Wrocław external projects of the WRO Art Center – Megaphones in the Eastern Park and the Cyanometer at Joliot-Curie Street.

Trees and shrubs, when looked at, often form surprising shapes and constellations. Their mutual relations can often be considered very human – one opposing each other, on the contrary, prefer loneliness. Often, as the Grün | Zielony project developed by WRO tells, they are personal natural monuments, remembering many human stories. These will also appear at the Saturday meeting.

The walker is free, without age restrictions, and drawing skills are not necessary. We will give out all materials and drawing tools to the participants at the beginning of the walk. We start at Pergola – from the stairs to the restaurant / Centennial Hall – meeting at 10 AM.
